for some reason i am having issues with videos.

John has been telling me for a while that he thought Mallary was folding her arms when we said prayers before we eat, but I never paid attention, until he pointed it out on Monday. She basically watches Trevan and does what he does. She totally folds her arms. So at the end of family home evening we pretend prayed for like 15 minutes so we could get some pictures and video. The video I got on my camera isn't that great, the video camera footage is better. But, now she not only prays she sometimes bows her head and closes her eys (I think it depends on what Trevan is doing). She also "says" her own prayers too. I only caught a little of that in one of the videos. Of course we had been watching her do it for a while before we thought of getting out the cameras. That is Trevan's I am not really mad, but I want to look mad right now face.

I tried to give Trevan a little fauxhawk, and then I had him go look in the mirror and tell me what he thought. He came out of the bathroom with a funny look on his face, and said, "I don't want to look like a chicken."

Soccer season is OVER!!

Trevan's soccer is over, yay! John and I both do not enjoy that sport, but John made me sign him up to be on a team with Trevan's little friends from church. Basically, we want him to learn how to kick so he can be the kicker on a football team.

So, Trevan wasn't so active during the games. Frequently taking HIMSELF out of the game, laying on his back on the field (DURING the games), pretending to be star wars guys, transformers, monsters, etc. while running up and down the field, etc. etc. etc. He didn't like the idea of people kicking the ball away from him. For example, he did the kick off once and kicked it and then someone kicked it away from him, he stopped dead in his tracks and totally pouted.

There is some hope though, he kicks the ball like he's punting a football!

The craziest thing about this whole thing was that Trevan runs around the house ALL day pretending to be whatever having battles, etc. So one would think when he would go to soccer with a ball to kick and friends to kick it with and that he would be in heaven right? Well, of course not, he would go and want to sit down!!!! Weird!

Anyway. I know everyone is sad they weren't able to see him in action, so I included some video footage just for you. It will be like you didn't miss a thing! (sorry about my shrilly voice in the videos) These are all from the beginning of September.

Trevan actually did a good job as goalie. I wish I had been recording more. He stopped a lot of balls, it was adorable. Of course I got the one where he let it pass, and you can see he is frustrated about it.

My absolute favorite! Every game, he just stopped playing when he wanted to. He is too funny!

• WE WOULDNT MIND GOING TO THE BEACH--LIKE WED, THURS, FRI, SAT, WE COULD GET HOTEL SUITES BESIDE EACH OTHER. I ALSO WOULD NOT MIND GOING TO CHINCOTEAGUE
• PIPESTEM A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE MAYBE BAILEY REUNION
• WILLIAMSBURG---DO THE BEACH A FEW DAYS, WATER COUNTRY, MAYBE NOT DO THE WHOLE TOURIST THING IN WILLIAMSBURG B/C OF THE KIDS.

IT IS HARD FOR US TO PLAN REALLY FAR IN ADVANCE BECAUSE WE DONT KNOW WHERE BEN WILL BE WITH SCHOOL NEXT SUMMER. BUT WE REALLY DONT CARE WHAT WE DO BECAUSE WE WOULD HAVE FUN ANYWHERE. IT IS ALWAYS FUN TO GO SOMEWHERE WE HAVE NEVER BEEN. I AM ALWAYS GAME FOR THAT.

In case you haven't witnessed it

For those that haven't been able to see it first hand, you may have heard me talk about how Trevan runs around the house all day. I started recording a bit too late, but started recording so Chris and Becky could hear him play with his new transformer. He was being really animated, but of course stopped as soon as I started recording. I was almost going to stop recording when I realized he was just going to be running, then thought I would continue for posteritys sake. At the end he resumed playing with the transformer, but quietly. So, this is why when we take him to soccer he is "tired." Because he has been running all day! (keep in mind this video is only a mild example of what he really does)

Fourth Birthday!!

New Look

Lest you think I can't do crafty things (okay, I really can't), I changed the fabric on our dining room chairs last week. I also gave up the fight, and put plastic on them. I don't like that so much, but it sure is easy to keep clean.

We're converting to Ahmishism!! (with electricity)

There really is something to be said about the Ahmish lifestyle! So simple, less things to worry and stress about, and everyone just looks so pure! The little children in their little Ahmish outfits are adorable!!!

We just got back from our daddy daughter date in Berlin, Ohio. Dad, you should never have taken us there, you have created a monster!! Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the great landscapes or countryside, but that will be on our next trip.

It was so much fun! There were tons of horse and buggies, lots and lots of shopping at fun stores and antique stores, we wished we had more money so we could buy things at this store, I got way too many ideas, and not enough time in a day to do them all, we invented a boardgame, we ate a lot of cheese, we got a lot of fudge, we got a lot of bargains, we had yummy sweet potato fries with caramel sauce, we laughed a lot (I am much funnier when my kids aren't around for some reason), we talked a lot (that tends to happen while in the car for long periods of time), slept a little bit, did I mention I got lots of ideas?? Don't be surprised when you enter my home this Holiday season and find my Christmas tree hanging upside down from the cieling!

Taste testing yummy cheese. Except horseradish cheese, and goats milk cheese is not so yummy. Goats milk cheese tasted like a goat smells. Dad's tounge was hurting in this picture from a cheese he tested earlier. Candi looks excited about the next sample!

We ate dinner in Charm, Ohio. I want some more sweet potato fries with caramel sauce!!!

And of course we went to a few thrift stores, and I had to take pictures because we totally laughed at ourselves traveling to another state and being excited to go to the thrift stores!!! Mom would be proud!! We found great, great things!!!! Lots of fantastic vinatge things!!!! Yay! Now I have to get back to work on all those ideas!!
